Accredited districtwide by AdvancEd, Nassau County School District is at the top of the class, ranking No. 4 in the state of Florida. Our schools have the fifth-highest graduation rate in the state. Nassau County schools gained distinction in 2015 when alum Derrick Henry won the Heisman Trophy. Amelia Island is also home to private schools, including Amelia Island Montessori School, Faith Christian Academy, Fernandina Beach Christian Academy, Lindisfarne Hall, St. Michael’s Academy, and The Ogburn School.

The Florida State College at Jacksonville Betty P. Cook Nassau Center offers college courses along with programs for lifelong learners. Located on campus is the Lewis “Red” Bean Technical Center, a joint venture with the Nassau County School District offering vocational and technical education.
